“I enjoy turning ideas into reliable systems that actually work in the real world.”

Tygo Rijners
Mechanical Engineer
Tygo Rijners is a Mechanical Engineering student at the Hogeschool Utrecht, who joined Holland Sensor as part of his second-year internship. With a strong interest in hands-on engineering and practical innovation, he contributes to technical development projects while further building his skills in design, prototyping, and system integration.
During his studies, Tygo has worked on a wide range of technical assignments, including building a functional robot, designing a hybrid 3D-print head capable of printing both Tin-Lead and PET-G, developing a cooling machine, and conducting research into solar thermal systems. Through these projects, he has gained experience in CAD modelling (SolidWorks), materials science, strength analysis, and thermodynamics — always with a focus on translating theory into working hardware.
At Holland Sensor, Tygo is involved in the automation of measurement instrumentation, helping transform manual measuring devices into reliable, continuous, and industrially deployable systems. His analytical mindset, precision, curiosity, and clear communication style support both the engineering process and team collaboration.
His work reflects a pragmatic and solution-driven approach; focused on learning by doing and contributing to robust technical innovations that perform in real-world environments.
